August 2009, during my last pregnancy, routine lab tests were done at Dr. Thomas Lee’s office in Montclair CA. Before the results of these test were back, I transferred to a different doctor. I signed a release form, and requested my information be faxed over to my new doctor, little did I know that the results were never sent. I went into labor at 27 weeks, my daughter weighed 2lbs 3oz. She spent 2 months in NICU before she was released. She was treated for a lot of things, but now she seems healthy. She sees her pediatrician, the regional center, the high risk clinic, a cardiologist, and an eye doctor. For now, I don’t know if she will have any permanent injuries. She has not been diagnosed with any permanent injury yet.
While I was in labor, the doctor said that my amniotic fluid had a foul smell, and that I must have had an infection, but there was no follow up about that after. Two months later, I found out that I did come back positive for an infection from the blood tests done at Dr. Lees’s office. They never contacted me, nor sent the results to my new doctor. The infection that I had was treatable and since it was not treated, it resulted in the premature labor of my daughter.
I lost my job due to the fact that I went into labor so early. I want to go back to work but my daughter is way to small and needs a lot of extra care to be left with a babysitter. Can I get any sort of compensation for the medical negligence from Dr. Lee’s office?

I had a corneal transplant operation that went horribly wrong and left spiral cuts in my retina causing permanent blindness in left eye. before surgery was told that people that have this operation sometimes have several times that it can be retried if cornea is rejected anjd success rate is extremely high in general, Afterwards my surgeon says that was my fault for my eye moving while scalpeling by hand (for this procedure everything I have read says that it is a cookie cutter type machine used to remove cornea) and didnt tell me anything about not having a chance for site or about my having an additional condition in the back of my eye (first I have heard of it and not in my prev. examination notes before)and that is why the surg. cannot be attempted again suppossedly. until way after the date of the surg. I understand that there is a statuet of lim. on this type of negligence / malpr. or incompitence case . And only have a couple months left before it would have been a year since the actual incident/procedure had taken place. I need help fast! This is difficult for me to use my vision for more than 20 minutes at a time reading or web especially because the eye I have left is legally blind as well and has the same condition that my left one has and is getting worse eventually leading to total blindness/ or rupturing all together. The condition is known as Advanced Stages of “Keratoconus”. A slow falling apart of the cornea until eventual rupturing of the eye and blindness. I need a pro-bono injury att./lawyer w/doctor referal for neg./malprractice suet asap as only have a couple months left til statuet of limit. runs out I believe it is a year from the incident? Not sure. Need all info. on what options / assistance in pursueing this matter and/or legal means to extend lim. or special considerations to persons in my situation that may grant myself special circumstance and inability to properly be informed adaquately of my rights and means/personal help with papers documents filing ect. if any from private organizations or otherwise as welll as possible university research on eye disease operations ect. that I may volunteer for that may not be available to the opthalmic surgery professionals to0 offer as of yet. I AM ATTEMPTING TO SALVAGE WHAT REMAINS OF MY SIGHT, LIFE, SANITY, MARRIAGE, FUNDS TO KEEP A ROOF OVERHEAD/ FOOD/ CLOTHING ECT. I know that people do get assisted in recieving proper care and compensation for such a situation as this one but, How / where / when / what? I need help before I lose more of the functionality to search for myself! My husband is curently on workers compensation due to a back injury. The problem is they used his last 13 weeks of work to calculate his average weekly wage. Unfortunately his had pnenonia for about 5 of those weeks and didn’t get paid sick time, so his checks are really really small. We can’t live on what he is getting, but the insurance company said that they have no other way to calculate his weekly wages. I don’t know what to do. He isn’t getting better and we can’t pay our bills.

I was actually injured while getting a microdermabrasion facial. I have been to the doctor and the owner of the spa did reimburse me the facial cost + medical expenses. This has been very emotionally traumatic (my face is covered in abrasions). I told the spa owners that I wanted compensation. They are contacting their insurance company on Monday. Does anyone know about the personal injury laws in Ohio? Should I take what the insurance company offers? What am I entitled to? I really don’t like the idea of getting a laywer…they will go after so much money because they will get a percentage. So does anyone have an opinion? My face has a severe abrasion/scrape on my right cheek bone a couple of large ones on both sides of my jaws and then mild abrasions here and there. The day of the facial I was burnt red w/swelling and bleeding (Thurs). The doctor doesn’t think there will be scarring but this has been so emotional for me and I can’t leave the house, have had to cancel a lot of plans.
Whiplash injury – what to ask for?
I had whiplash injury after a crash, someone hit into my car. It lasted two weeks, and then got much better. I didn’t see a doctor, because I couldn’t get an appointment over thanksgiving. Also I just moved here and my medical insurance isn’t though yet. I think I’m recovering fine now. But – what should I do for a medical claim from the insurance? Do they ususally offer compensation for this sort of thing? Do I still need to go to the doctor (which feels daft because I’m getting better), and I don’t really want to shell out doctor fees (or take up doctors time) if I don’t need to.
